Travel to a new city in a new country, shake hands with as many people as possible, collect at every 50th handshake a sample of the skin microbiome in the palm of my right hand, characterize the composition of the bacterial communities sampled after 1000 handshakes to study the complex dynamics of contamination. This experimental performance has so far been presented in seven different cities on three continents.
