Travel to a new city in a new country, shake hands with as many people as possible, collect at every 50th handshake a sample of the skin microbiome in the palm of my right hand, analyze the composition of the bacterial communities harvested after 1000 handshakes to understand the dynamics of contamination. This performance/experience has so far been presented in 7 different cities on 3 continents... and it still goes on.
