Echoes from the ancestral womb presents the individual performances of seven dancers, each performing the same score composed from a personal vocabulary. A sequence of 80 movements of a mitochondrial DNA gene has been selected and this sequence is read aloud in real time to the dancers who must execute it, without any type of preparation. These choreographic portraits present the individual genetic signatures of each performer.
